Got a busy day today, hopefully I can get a post out later.

Brit, I agree it is fun to have a new team in the race, like the Rays, but I'm not impressed with their attitudes - but they can be a fun team to root against, like the Yankees. They still have too much Lou Pinella in them.

Blue State - I'm with you on that. I thought all along they should have gone with the original surgeon's advise, but they took a chance and it did not work out. Could definitely turn against them though.

Peter - we're all just one big happy Red Sox family! We should organize an outing to Fenway one of these day with the whole crew. Wouldn't that be fun?Roosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00791799560386548665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4865472811324227620.post-19253520137788840032008-06-21T09:08:00.000-04:002008-06-21T09:08:00.000-04:00Peter, of course I'd never like any team more than...Peter, of course I'd never like any team more than the Sox!

I just think the Rays are kind of cool (when they're not fighting with us!), and it makes me happy that they're actually doing pretty well this year.

But you know me...I'm loyal to my Sox!redsox.njdevilshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02849762392830182418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4865472811324227620.post-30345974999959153772008-06-21T08:48:00.000-04:002008-06-21T08:48:00.000-04:00You know, the Sox FO is going to take a PR hit ove...You know, the Sox FO is going to take a PR hit over this one.

Frankly, I think the physician who knows Schill best was probably the most qualified to make an accurate determination on the best treament on this, but then I’m not a surgeon. I just know if I were the patient, I would trust my own doctor’s judgment first.

A debate for the ages. I’m also not sure that, in the end, it would have made any difference in whether or not Schilling pitched this year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4865472811324227620.post-68195538476675866242008-06-21T07:55:00.000-04:002008-06-21T07:55:00.000-04:00OK, hey Rooster. With Colon out (for swinging, no less!), we still have a contigent of five starters, and we all have to hope Daisuke does well today (Saturday).

Brittany, the Rays? They are an young, exciting and improving team, but...but I know your heart is firmly with the good guys. (That's the Sox)

Rooster, your blog continues to excell, and thank you for that!

Everyone, have a great weekend. When I'm here at "Rational," it seems like home. And that's a great feeling. Even after the fight we had with them, I still think they're a pretty cool team. Maybe it's just that it's nice to finally see them winning or maybe I like the fact that the Yankees aren't the ones creeping up to our first place spot.

Speaking of the Yanks, I'm feeling pretty good about them not being an issue for us, even if they end up getting Sabathia. I already don't like C.C. (because he "stole" Josh's Cy last year), so he'll fit perfectly into the rivalry. Obviously, (based on the results of last year's ALCS), we (when I say "we", I mean "Beckett") can handle C.C.'s stuff, so I don't think he'll be much of a threat to us. Hopefully, I'm right...

I'm pretty sad about Curt, but at least his "last game" (maybe, maybe not, but probably), was a great one. He's a great player AND a great person.

I love your last two lines--they gave me chills!redsox.njdevilshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02849762392830182418noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4865472811324227620.post-62446610601007795812008-06-20T13:46:00.000-04:002008-06-20T13:46:00.000-04:00C - you've been changing id's lately, confusing me...C - you've been changing id's lately, confusing me :)

I was not as shocked when they signed Shill over the winter - it almost felt like just giving him a chance to have one final season and retire in a Sox uniform. I liked that sentiment, and the money was not outragous. I am willing to believe what they all say - that no one, including Schill, had any idea his shoulder was about to blow, in which case, it is just an unfortunate situation.

Buchholz has been working in Pawtucket primarily on using different arm slots (or angles). Coming across a little more from the side can give him a little more movement on a fastball, and also can help disguise a non-fastball pitch. Still has not perfected it though, but he's getting there.Roosterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00791799560386548665noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4865472811324227620.post-21382233388310130102008-06-20T12:52:00.000-04:002008-06-20T12:52:00.000-04:00I was shocked when the Sox re-signed Curt, and wit...I was shocked when the Sox re-signed Curt, and with the timing when they did it (should have waited closer to spring training). It didn't make much sense to me. I do wish for Curt that he would have gotten that almost "no-hitter" and also not having to go out this way (though he brashly says that he doesn't care any more)!

Now, what's going on with Buchholz?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
